Eremite Games released update 1.11 for the PC version of Against the Storm. Rebel Hideout is a new world map modifier that changes the available population: the settlement is restricted to two species. Winning under this condition unlocks a home decoration in the Smoldering City through its associated Deed.
The smaller number of species mainly changes combinations of needs and work bonuses. This modifier is not a universal new starting rule; it applies to a settlement at the relevant map location. A normal strategy involving other species therefore cannot simply be transferred unchanged.
Seals and Workflows
Selecting only one seal type in the Seal Contracts window now produces four matching seals on the map instead of two. This changes the starting point for planning, without replacing the process of actually defeating a seal.
Scouts with no remaining task return to the Hearth earlier after completing a Glade Event. Previously, one could wait at the event while the other transported the last rewards. Alongside new hints and revised panels, the patch aims to make workflows easier to understand.
A follow-up fix in version 1.11.2 addresses blocked Trading Post construction after acquiring Market Shift Plan. This bug differs from a game’s rules intentionally preventing trade. The Frog House’s Water Pipeline HUD icon is also corrected.
Eremite and Mindclash Games also announce Against the Storm: The Board Game. The co-operative economic game is planned to include seven asymmetric species and a campaign with persistent progress. Its Gamefound campaign is planned for May 2027. That is a crowdfunding date, rather than a confirmed delivery date or a PC DLC.
