Manor Lords Tests Mandatory Crop Rotation, Fertiliser and Village Perks

Beta 0.8.110 substantially revises farming. Hotfix 0.8.111 already corrects several field displays and harvesting issues.

The new Manor Lords beta combines additional Development Perks with an extensive farming revision. Slavic Magic also identifies save, loading, ox logistics and crash problems as key feedback influencing the update’s focus.

Crop rotation is no longer an option that can be disabled. Summer and winter crops are distinguished more clearly, and the field interface shows planned work for the coming twelve months. Wheat and rye are winter crops but can also be sown in spring with lower yield. Flax, barley and oats belong to spring.

Livestock Provides the Basis for Fertiliser

Animals on pastures produce dung. Dung Collectors gather it and process it into fertiliser at the Dunghill. Farmhouse workers can apply it to fallow fields during summer to increase their maximum fertility. According to the notes, the effect lasts slightly more than two years. Dung and fertiliser are stored only in the Dunghill.

This connects livestock more closely to farming. Extra fields alone cannot fix missing fertility; the new chain requires collection, processing and application at the appropriate time.

The Rural Foundations category adds six perks for settlements at level three or above. A new artisan, the Fishmonger, produces smoked fish from fish and salt. This content belongs to the test branch and must not be recommended as an identical stable version without qualification.

Follow-up Patch and Safe Participation

Hotfix 0.8.111 makes completed field tasks clearer and fixes incorrect growth and harvest states, among other issues. Its correction list also includes late-sown or large fields where harvesting was not permitted.

The developers recommend backing up saves and removing mods before switching branches. Public Steam access uses the code veryNiceBasket for the pre_release branch. Manor Lords: Install the Steam Beta and Back Up Saves First separates backup, installation and returning. A newer beta save should not be your only remaining file for a later stable campaign.
